He immigrated to the United States with his family at the young age of four and was raised among the working-class people of West Texas (Odessa, Texas). The first in his family to graduate college, Javier has met and overcome adversity from an early age. Despite not speaking English when he entered kindergarten, Javier went on to graduate from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998 with a degree in Psychology and graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2002
After law school, Javier moved to El Paso, Texas with his young family where he began his career at the prestigious plaintiff’s firm of Scherr & Legate PLLC and became a partner after four years with the firm. In January 2008, Javier moved to San Antonio, Texas and opened The Law Office of Javier Espinoza, P.C. as its principal owner and shareholder. This Law Office subsequently became the Espinoza Law Firm, PLLC, and is now proudly Espinoza & Brock, PLLC.
Since starting his career in 2002, Javier has tried and arbitrated an extensive number of cases to verdict, and due to his experience, has been the leader and President of multiple lawyer organizations. Javier’s law practice has focused on litigating non-subscriber work injury cases, workers’ compensation retaliation cases under §451 of the Texas Labor Code, third party work injury cases, and employment discrimination cases under state and federal law with an emphasis on gender discrimination cases.
Over his 20 plus years career, Javier has obtained extensive trial litigation experience and has won several multi-million-dollar verdicts. Additionally, Javier’s work injury and labor practice has led him to manage a heavy arbitration docket and he has successfully arbitrated many cases to final hearing with hundreds of thousands of dollars recovered in individual arbitrations for his clients. Javier’s experience has been fully focused on litigation – from filing suit, taking depositions, challenging experts, conducting appeals – including oral arguments at the appellate level, filing, and arguing against complex motions for summary judgment, negotiating through meditations, and all aspects of litigation and arbitration. Javier litigates cases all over Texas and New Mexico and is a member of the prestigious organization, “American Board of Trial Advocates” (ABOTA), and the current Executive Committee Secretary of the Texas Chapter of ABOTA.
